ご挨拶

初代会長のマリクさん、二代目の鹿子木さんから2024年５月に引き継ぎ、会長を務めさせて頂いている金子です。どうぞよろしくお願いします。

皆さま方にはDICの活動にご理解ご協力を頂き、誠にありがとうございます。 私とインド文化交流との関りは、横浜で日印交流市民団体“横浜インド文化交流委員会”を１９９３年に立ち上げたころからで、今年で３１年目になります。その後ディワリのお祭り“ディワリインヨコハマ”を２０年ほど前に始めました。DICの会員の中にもディワリを通してお知り合いになった方が多くいらっしゃいます。

前会長の鹿子木さんが1４年ほど前に訪ねてこられ、一緒にDICを設立することをご提案いただき、横浜インド文化交流会とディワリインヨコハマでの経験とノウハウがお役にたつのであれば、と、１１年前にDICを皆さんとご一緒に立ち上げました。月日が経つのは早いもので、設立記念に開催した、戸塚さくらホールでのインドコンサートがついこの間のような気もします。

インドの時代と言われている今は、インド文化交流委員会を始めたころ、３１年前はもちろんのこと、DICを始めた1１年前とも、大きく状況がかわり、日印交流団体に求められている役割も変わってきています。こうした中で、DICは日印交流を通して、日印及び地球の持続的発展に貢献できる活動を皆さんとご一緒に続けていかれればと思います。

それには、DICが、日印交流に関するさまざまな人、団体をつなげる、ソフトなインフラとして役割を機能することが大事です。DICの会員やインドに関係する関心をお持ちの、全て方は、様々な経験・ノウハウ・ネットワークをお持ちです、会員の思い、アイデアが実践に繋がることで、日印交流、日印の持続的発展に大きく貢献できます。このために、自由な意見を出し合って、出された意見、アイデアをみんなで連携して実現に向けて進めましょう。DICは社会・地球に貢献できるすばらしい団体です。何が今日印交流とって必要なのか真剣に考えて、自分は今何ができるのかを真剣に考えて、ぜひ笑顔で楽しくご一緒に進めましょう！

１９５４年　愛知県生まれ　１９７７年横浜市立大学卒後、横浜市に入庁　国や自治体の政策立案や新事業企画調整に長く携わる。日印交流に強い関心を持ち、１９９３年に横浜インド文化交流委員会設立、２００３年にディワリインヨコハマ創設、２０１３年DIC設立に中心メンバーとして携わり日印文化交流を長く続け、現在　横浜ムンバイ友好委員会副委員長　横浜市立大学同窓会会長などを務めている。　横浜市立大学非常勤講師、愛知大学非常勤講師など歴任

〔歴代会長〕

1934年　インド生まれ。1956年パンジャブ大学卒。WHO世界保健機構、UNDP国連開発プログラム、国連大学、浦安在住外国人会会長、 慶応大学非常勤講師など歴任。
2022年10月14日没　享年88歳

１９３６年　大阪生まれ　中央大学卒業　1971年日印協会入所　現在もインドをこよなく愛し、多くのインド人の友人を持ち、 日印交流に長年尽力され渡印経験は６０回以上。
(公財)日印協会常務理事として活躍　退職後も日印の草の根交流に尽力している。

Message from Nobuyasu Kaneko, President, Discover India Club (DIC)

I am Kaneko, and I am working as chairman of DIC in May 2024 following Mr. Malik, the first chairman, and Mr. Kanokogi, the second chairman. Please accept my best regards.

I would like to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation in the activities of the DIC. My involvement in Indian cultural exchange dates back to 1993, when I founded the Yokohama Indian Cultural Exchange Committee, a Japan-India citizen's group in Yokohama, 31 years back. After that I started the Diwali festival ‘Diwali In Yokohama’ 20 years back. Many of the members of the DIC have become acquainted with each other through Diwali.

Around 14 years ago, Mr. Kanokogi, the former president of the DIC, suggested that we should establish DIC together . We decided that our experience and know-how from the Yokohama Indian Cultural Exchange Society and Diwali in Yokohama would be of help, and together with you people, we established the DIC 11 years ago. We held an Indian concert at Totsuka Sakura Hall to commemorate the establishment of the DIC. It seems like it happened just few days ago.

In the current era which is called the era of India, the situation has changed dramatically from 31 years ago when I started the India Cultural Exchange Committee, as well as from 11 years ago when DIC was established. The roles required for Japan-India exchange organizations have also changed. Under these circumstances, I hope that the DIC will continue to work together with you all to contribute to the sustainable development of Japan-India and the Earth through Japan-India exchange.

DIC members and all those interested in India have a wide range of experience, know-how, and networks that can contribute greatly to Japan-India relations and the sustainable development of Japan-India relations. This will greatly contribute to Japan-India exchanges and the sustainable development of Japan and India. For this purpose, let's freely exchange the ideas and work together to realize the opinions and ideas expressed. DIC is a wonderful organization that can contribute to society and the earth. Let's think seriously about what is necessary for today's India Japan exchange and what we can do now, and let's proceed together with a smile and a happy heart!

We invite all who are interested in Japan-India relations to join the Discover India Club and work together to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The strong ties between the two countries will contribute to peace and stability not only between our two countries but also in the world. We look forward to your participation in DIC.

Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1954 and graduated from Yokohama City University in 1977. He joined the City of Yokohama, where he worked for a long time in national and local government policy making and planning and coordination of new projects . He has a strong interest in Japan-India relations and has been involved in Japan-India cultural exchange for a long time as a core member of the establishment of the Yokohama-India Cultural Exchange Committee in 1993, founder of Diwali In Yokohama in 2003, and the establishing the DIC in 2013.　He works as part-time lecturer at Yokohama City University, Aichi University, etc.

Born in India in 1934, Mr. Malik graduated from Punjab University in 1956, and has served as member of WHO World Health Organization, UNDP United Nations Development Program, United Nations University, and as president of Urayasu Foreign Residents Association.
He also served as a part-time lecturer at Keio University.
He passed away on October 14, 2022 at the age of 88.

Born in Osaka in 1936 Graduated from Chuo University.
He joined Japan-India Association in 1971. Still loves India and has many Indian friends, He has been active in Japan-India relations for many years and has traveled to India more than 60 times.
He has traveled to India more than 60 times. He was the Executive Director of the Japan-India Society of India and has been active in grassroots exchange between India and Japan since his retirement.
